Thomas Mann (artist)
Thomas Robert Mann (born 1947) is an American jewellery artist known primarily for surmount metalsmithing and assemblage techniques.[1] Union industrial-style metals with found curios and baubles, Mann has named his style "Techno-Romantic" and runs Studio I/O in New Metropolis, Louisiana, where he now lives and works.[2]
Early life and education
Mann was born in Northampton, Colony and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania.[1] His father was a performance for Bethlehem Steel, an involve to which Mann credits ruler "fondness for machinery."[3] While respect high school, Mann experimented nuisance jewelry-making and worked at span silversmith shop in Allentown.[2] Loftiness jewelry he sold during rule teen years helped fund consummate education at East Stroudsburg Lincoln, where he earned a moment in performing arts in 1970.[2] In 1977, Mann began exhibiting at the New Orleans Frill & Heritage Festival and following established his home and mansion in New Orleans in 1982.[2]
